Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

Accidents are unpredictable. Your future doesn’t have to be.

OMA Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance is an affordable complement to your existing insurance plans.

Accidents are unexpected but one thing you can plan for is making sure you have the appropriate safety net in place for you and your family. Protection is available with OMA Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance — a simple and affordable way to complement your existing Life and Disability Insurance coverage.

OMA Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance coverage includes:

We provide you and if applicable, your spouse and eligible dependent children, insurance against accidental death or accidental injury. We pay a lump sum in addition to any other benefit you or your family may receive.

No medical evidence

If you are actively practicing medicine in Canada excluding residents of Quebec and under the age of 70, your application acceptance is guaranteed.

You can choose to insure yourself or yourself and your family. You may select an amount of insurance from a minimum of $100,000 to a maximum of $1,000,000 (in units of $100,000).

You may continue coverage if you are residing outside of Canada, provided you maintain your membership and continue to pay your premiums. You are not permitted to request any increases in coverage while you reside outside of Canada.

Waiver of premiums

If you become totally disabled prior to age 65 and continue to be totally disabled for 270 days, payment of premiums for your coverage may be waived provided proof is submitted no later than 12 months after the date you became totally disabled, while you remain totally disabled, or until you reach age 70, whichever occurs first.
