If you’re a Canadian citizen, you have access to a government health plan. But that may not cover everything – and health care costs are on the rise.
With Manulife’s Alumni Health & Dental Insurance, you can save on many of the costs that may not be covered by your government health plan.
Choose from eight affordable insurance plans to save on these costs and more:
- Prescription drugs
- Vision care
- Travel medical
- Dental care
- Hearing aids
- Massage therapy
Certain expenses are not eligible for coverage under the Alumni Health and Dental Plans. See the Policy for all terms and conditions.
Your coverage shall remain in force from month to month provided that the required premiums are paid when due. Coverage shall terminate at the end of the last month for which premium payment was made to and accepted by the insurer, in which case no notice shall be required.
The insurer reserves the right to change premiums required based on its payment of benefits experience, or to alter the benefits consistent with a change in the government health insurance plan, or for any other reason. You may apply to increase coverage at any time, if evidence of health satisfactory to the insurer is submitted along with a written application for the change in coverage. If you wish to reduce benefits you must have been covered under the existing benefits for a period of at least twelve (12) consecutive months prior to the requested date. You may change from single to couple or family coverage at any time by submitting a written application and medical evidence (if such evidence is required) for the dependant(s) to be added. Upon approval, coverage will become effective on a date to be determined by the insurer.
You are eligible to apply if:
- You are an alumni member or their spouse
- You are a Canadian resident
- You are enrolled in a government health plan
Quebec residents only: Residents of Quebec must be registered under the RAMQ Prescription Drug Insurance Plan or enrolled under a group plan. This policy will top up the basic drug plan coverage mandated by Quebec’s health insurance.
