Many of the plans offered to CARP members have “guaranteed acceptance”. This means that your approval for coverage will not be dependent on the completion of a medical questionnaire or exam at time of application - provided you meet the required eligibility and your payment is received.
When coverage is being offered to those leaving a group plan, ‘guaranteed acceptance’ will also require the CARP member to apply for coverage with 90 days of their group health plan ending and 60 days before their life plan ending.
Yes, if your employment is ending and you are losing group benefits, you can convert your group life or health insurance to individual policies.
